week

Hey guys,

I’m sorry I have been away for so long. Well, remember the film I was working on in Brooklyn, NY? Well, it took way more of my time than I expected. I was waking up at 3:30 am and going to bed around 11:30pm. I had barely time to shower and eat so obviously blogging had to wait. It’s over now but I’m really glad I decided to do it. It was such a wonderful experience. Thew crew and art department were amazing.  So here are just a few pics of my past weeks. Can’t wait to see it all on the screen.

Hey guys,

This is a quick post as I’m about to leave to NYC. New film shooting and I can’t wait.

I had a few pictures that haven’t made to any post yet, so I decided to do a random post with them.

The latte on top is from Starbucks that I got last week. I went there with the hubby after buying a new book at Barnes and Nobles, yay for books and coffee.

Easter Sunday

April 04th, 20130 Comment

Hey guys,

I’m finally here with my Easter Sunday recap. I can’t believe its thursday already?! This week is passing in a blink!

We left to my in laws on Saturday afternoon. They live 2.5 hours away so we had to really pack! I can’t imagine having a kid sometimes, how do people fit all in the car? We will definitely be one of those parents with a SUV.

When we got there saturday night, we were both starving and all we could think at the time was pizza!

Don’t you just love holidays? I feel like I can eat anything and it’s ok.

Then we chat while we died eggs and watched Life of Pi. It was my first official time dying eggs and I loved it! I mean craft with food? Sign me up! We don’t celebrate Easter the same in Brazil and there isn’t a dying egg tradition. We do hunt for chocolate but that’s also a little bit rare.

I also did a video with my CMY egg. You can check it here.

The next morning (Sunday) I woke up to this:

IMG_1386

Yep, my own Easter basket. Isn’t my husband adorable sometimes always?  He stayed up getting this ready and I had no idea at all! We usually give each other something small on Easter and I was expecting maybe a card?.

IMG_1388

What I loved the most is the attention to the details, he was telling me how careful he chose the things inside to match the color story and to satisfy my preferences. I was craving about the new white chocolate M&M’s for a while and he remembered. I was one happy kid on Easter morning.

IMG_1387

Then we took Achilles for a walk, poor guy couldn’t relax while we were there. Too many new scents!

When we came back my in laws had the most delicious apple pancakes! sooo good! (I forgot to snap a pic, sorry)

Then we all chat while cooking the meal. (And by that I totally mean I only chopped things and peeled eggs, haha, my mother in law did all the hard work)

But I did manage to bring a homemade quiche that I made on Saturday morning. I used Kath’s recipe, so click here if you want it.

And after snaking in a zillion things like: grapes, cheese and crackers, eggs and veggies, this is what my plate looked like:

I end up not eating the bread, I was pretty full. I mean of course I was, I ate a pound of chocolates!

Then I spent some little time with my nephew and nice and it was already time to go home. I miss them so much, I wish so badly we lived closer. They are growing so fast and every time we go there I hate leaving.

We had a wonderful time with family and yummy foods, I hope you did too!

Hey guys,

How is it going? I hope you guys had an awesome Easter weekend. I still have a post to tell you about mine but hadn’t time to publish yet.

Today I have this wonderful review for you guys! YogaDownload offered me a free subscription so I can tell you more about them. And trust me, you will want to know. They are an awesome website! I did my first class this week and I’m already hooked.

ydl_logo

First of all, I want to say that I am by no means professional or expert in yoga but I’m a truly lover of the practice. Yoga to me is like medicine for my soul. It not only makes my body fit but it makes my mind fit. I wish I could do it every morning outside! But until that day that I become rich and have extra time or I become so zen that material stuff won’t matter, until that day… I will try to incorporate more yoga to my weekly workout routine.

YogaDownload is a website where you can download yoga classes or stream them straight from their website.

You can buy the classes ala carte or sign for a subscription. Some classes cost only $0.99 but the subscription is definitely worth it. For as low as $10/month you get unlimited stream classes. I mean that’s cheaper than a yoga dvd! They also have a variety of free classes, so no excuse!

So why are they so good? Besides the part that they offer hundreds of classes categorized by intensity and styles … They are also professionals, all classes are taught by strong talented yoga teachers. And you can do it from the comfort of your house. You don’t have to re-do the same yoga dvd over and over anymore, at yogadownload you can try something new everyday. They also offer 5 minutes relaxation classes as well as an hour and half intense workouts. You can now fit yoga to whatever schedule you have.

Options Galore – choose audio classes, video classes, slideshows or build your own custom class from your favorite poses, then choose to stream it, or download it and keep it forever.

They also have a wonderful variety of music if all you need is that.

And check it out their Iphone app!

My experience

I decided to do my first class this week when I wasn’t feeling like going to the gym. At first I wasn’t expecting so many options so I took a while to choose something. I wasn’t sure how hard is their hard but I also wanted to get a good sweat out of it.

I suggest to give some time to choose the classes you want to try that week and add them to your wish list, so when you only have a half hour to workout you don’t lose it trying to find the best class.

I tried YogaFit – the last one from the list on the left menu. I did a intermediate class and I believe it was my level. It was very similar than my yoga gym class (the level) and I was able to do it without problems.

I also recommend letting the video load all first before playing because I had to wait for it to load as I was doing it and that can get distracting.

Now head over there and try it! I know, I can’t wait for my next one, maybe I will do yoga abs? or active advanced? so many options, love it!!! I will keep updating this page as I do the classes.

*Yes, I got a free subscription but everything I wrote here I mean it. This review is entirely my sincere opinion of the website YogaDownload.

6 EASY ways to use less plastic

April 02nd, 20130 Comment

plastic

1// Reusable bags

When going food shopping bring your own bags and say no to their plastic bags. Buy cuter ones if you are going clothes shopping or something of the type as you will carry them around. I like to keep my bags in the car so I don’t forget them.

2// Flushable waste bags

Dogs have to poop and you have to pick it up. So while we can’t change that we can change what we are using to pick it up. I discovered FLUSH DOGGY and I just wish I knew it sooner. No more smelly trash cans in the garage. You can flush them down the toilet because they are water soluble. Good for your house and the environment.

3// Ball jars

Let’s begin by saying they are cute and cool. And also way better than plastic containers. We use them to store things in the refrigerator and freezer, to bring lunch to work and so much more. I’m completely in love with them. And their lids are stainless steel so again, no plastic.

4// Glass containers

Glass containers are easy to be used, Pyrex is oven safe, dishwasher safe… You can reuse just like plastic, so let’s stop with the excuses and get rid of all this plastic in our house, who needs 100 different plastic containers? They are only cluttering your house and the world.

5// Reusable coffee cups

Ok, we all love coffee. You may or may not love Starbucks but it all comes down to coffee. So bringing your own cup makes things easier for everyone, you get a discount and the world get one less cup. You may say, but I thought their cups were made of paper? But even paper cups are lined with plastic. And note here, those reusable cups are made of plastic but you are going to use the same one over and over and over. I believe plastic is still a good invention, but it is made to last! So no reason to be using plastic as a daily disposable thing.

6// Reusable water bottles

Another way to use less plastic is to bring your own water instead of buying a water bottle. You can also refill them at the water fountains. And of course any restaurant or food store is obligated by law to give you water if you ask so. So just keep your bottle at your purse or car and you are ready to go. It can also save you some money.

If you think I’m crazy and is wondering why care so much about plastic? Or maybe you think like I did a while ago, aren’t they recycling anyway? So head over to this website and watch this documentary “Bag It” , you will get your answers. Unfortunately plastic is way worse than we think and recycling is not as easy as I thought.
